Stories of Survival

Our Stories of Survival unit is an inspiring and comprehensive educational resource that collects 10 incredible true stories of real-life heroism and survival against overwhelming odds.

This curriculum is designed to teach students that knowledge, quick thinking, and courage are the most critical tools for overcoming crises, ranging from natural disasters to harrowing wilderness encounters. The unit uses an engaging "Breaking News" article format for each of the 10 narratives, followed by a News Review section with critical thinking questions, allowing students to analyze the crucial warning signs and decision-making that led to survival. Finally, cross-curricular projects like designing safety posters or themed recipes are included to reinforce learning through memorable, hands-on activities
