The development of Cubism alongside Georges Braque
Famous works such as Guernica, Weeping Woman, and Les Demoiselles d’Avignon
African mask influences and artistic inspiration
Elements of art and visual analysis
Art comparisons and guided observation activities
Picasso-inspired collage and Cubist art projects
Hands-on creative prompts and notebooking pages
Flashcards, coloring pages, recipes, timelines, and more
Inside the study, students are encouraged not only to learn about art history, but to think like artists themselves. The unit includes open-ended art exploration, compare-and-contrast activities, deeper conversations about perspective and creativity, and opportunities to create original artwork inspired by Picasso’s playful and experimental style.
