Here's more of what's covered in this unit:
In Week 1, dive into the fascinating realm of microbiology, exploring the hidden world of microorganisms that surround us. From introductory lessons on microorganisms and the tools of microbiology to in-depth investigations of bacteria via engaging STEM experiments! Through (virtual) microscope observations and hands-on experiments using common household supplies, you can learn about microbiology without a full lab at your disposal! We always end Week 1 with Group STEM: this month, it’s using a drop of water as a magnifying glass and studying the science of how this works!
Week 2 delves into the building blocks of life with a focus on cell biology.
Journey into the microscopic world of plant and animal cells, exploring their structures, functions, and interactions. From the intricate beauty of chloroplasts and mitochondria to a truly delicious organelle cake, your kids will love this week’s study and our group ART project - a diatom kaleidoscope!
In Week 3, participants embark on ecological adventures as they explore the interconnectedness of living organisms and their environments. From our own blood cells, to algae diatoms, to rotifers and vorticellas, if you love all things mini, we have got you covered.
Week 4 brings the Nature Study Club to a creative culmination as participants showcase their learning through a variety of project based final activities.
Each workbook level has their own unique take on project based learning as a final project! Let’s take a look at this month’s final projects:
🔍Little Explorers - Microbiology Snack Creations
